BASEBALL ON THE FARM!
TEAM RANKS

Here are our 2023 (April) Team ranks by quality of prospects and depth of minor league system.

Included (in parentheses) are Keith Law's rank (from the Athletic).

1.                          (#1) With 11 top 175 prospects, including three in our top 50 (#17 Bobby Miller,                               #28 Gavin Stone, #47 Diego Cartya), the Dodgers have the most depth and                                      take top honors as best Farm!

2.                         (#3)  Even after graduating Gunnar Henderson, the Orioles still have 4 top 50                                  prospects (#1 Grayson Rodriguez, #19 Jackson Holliday, #22 DL Hall, #35 Colton                              Cowser) 6 top 100 and 9 top 175.  Really could interchange LAD and BALT for                                  #1   farm

3.                         (#6)  With 9 top 175 prospects, including 3 in the top 25 (#13 Endy Rodriguez,                                #24 Matt Gorski, #25 Henry Davis), it was going to be hard to keep the Pirates                                out of our top 3!

4.                         (#5)  The pitching keeps coming and coming with Taj Bradley anchoring our #3                                team with 9 top 175 prospects, 6 top 100 and 3 top 50 (#16 Taj Bradley, #30                                  Kyle Manzardo, #40 Curtis Mead)

5.                        (#14) Maybe a big difference between us and Keith Law is due to our still having                             #9 Volpe in our ranks, plus we have #59 Austin Wells, #77 Clayton Beeter, #92                                Andres Chaparro, #93 Jasson Dominguez, #97 Oswald Pereza, #115 Jared Serna,  #121 Keiner Delgado, #140 Jesus Rodriguez, #143 Luis Medina, #146 Everson Pereira & #157 Spencer Jones. That's a pretty deep system, especially among position players.

6.                        (#9) Although #6 Jordan Walker will graduate soon, the Cardinals will still have                                 two very highly ranked arms in #33 Tink Hence and #38 Gordon Gracefo, as well                             as comeback player, #36 Moises Gomez, SS extraordinaire #61 Masyn Winn, and                             #98 Alec Burleson

7.                         (#13) Hard to pass on #14 Elly De La Cruz, #31 Christian Encarnacion-Strand and                              #32 Noelvi Marte -- an incredible 1-2-3 punch and 8 total top 175 prospects.

8.                         (#2)  We'd certainly agree with Keith Law on #3 Gavin Williams, #10 Daniel                                      Espino, #100 Tanner Bibee, #113 Brayan Rocchio, and #114 Bo Naylor, though we're likely lower on #134 Gabriel Arias and #158 George Valera.

9.                        (#19) From the Twins farm, we like: #11 Emmanuel Rodriguez, #37 Royce Lewis,                               #41 Brooks Lee, #91 Edouard Julien, #148 Jose Rodriguez, #173 Connor Prielipp.

10.                       (#11)  The Nationals (mostly through trades) have been able to compile a top 10                              system with 6 top 150 prospects and 5 top 100: #21 James Wood, #55 Cade                                    Cavalli, #62 Elijah Green, #67 Cole Henry, #83 Robert Hassell III.

11. BOS (#23) We like Bryan Mata, Mayer, Ceddanne Rafaela, Triston Casas and Enmanuel Valdez, all of whom are in our top 100, joined by Niko Kavadas at 101.

12. COL (#12, stars align!)  5 Top 175 prospects (though when Tovar graduates, COL's farm rank will plummet)

13. MIL (#8) We are slightly more bearish on the Brewer's farm, probably on how we view Chourio,
as we "cautiously" have him at #34, Frelick at #48 and Wiemer at #52...That's a pretty strong top 3 though.

14. TEX (#7) #43 Evan Carter, #44 Josh Jung, #89 Brock Porter are in our top 100, with #102 Owen White just outside.

15.                       SFG (#18) We really like #18 Vaun Brown, #29 Kyle Harrison and #72 Cole Waits.                              #105 Marco Luciano, is a "who knows" but #119 Blake Sabol and #152 PJ Hilson                              ought to be pretty good.

16. NYM (#15, great minds think alike here)  #26 Bretty Baty is our top Met, followed by #39 Francisco Alvarez, #76 Kevin Parada and #104 Mark Vientos with Ronny Mauricio making a push to get back in our top 175.

17. CHC (#10) Ok, we get it, Matt Mervis, Pete C-A, Brennan Davis, Alcantara, some very good prospects there...

18. DET (#30) Another disagreement with Keith Law's ranks as he has them dead last. But what about: Kerry Carpenter, Wilmer Flores, Wenceel Perez, Jace Jung, Jackson Jobe, Colt Keith and Reese Olsen...well, of course, those are not quite household names...at least not yet.

19. AZ (#4) We're pretty far apart (from Law) in ranking the DBacks' system maybe because Carrol has graduated from our ranks and #27 Druw Jones, #50 Jordan Lawlar, and #106 Brandon Pfaadt aren't as high in our top 175.

20. TOR (#17)  4 top 175 prospects, including #8 Ricky Tiedermann.

21. MIA (#21 shazam)  Also 4 top 175, including #12 Eury Perez, but with #80 Meyer's star dimming, so go the Marlins.

22. LAA (#25)
23. SEA (#20)
24. OAK (#27) But looks like Keith Law graduated E.Ruiz
25. PHIL (#22)
26. SDP (#24)
27
. KC (#16) Maybe our big difference on the Royals (with Keith Law) stems from who we've graduated, as we now just have #42 Tyler Gentry, #86 Gavin Cross, #110 Jackson Reetz and #139 Logan Porter remaining for KC among our top 175.

28.                        (#26) Once #2 Hunter Brown graduates (which is almost now), HOU will have                                   just one top 175 prospect (#153 Joey Loperfido). Though Dirden may bounce                                   back into our rank, but otherwise, HOU doesn't have a strong system.

29. CHW (#28)  #53 Oscar Colas, #95 Colson Montgomery and #156 Loidel Chapelli (that's it!) Fangraphs loved Bryan Ramos but you're looking at a career 111 wRC+ which does not inspire confidence for the next level.

30. ATL (#29) The Braves farm is in bad shape. We thought. Then Dylan Dodd somehow shut down STL. But, we won't be fooled by the Dodd Day miracle, this system is in bad shape.
