1. With 11 Top 200, 7 Top 100 and 3 Top 30 prospects, your #1 farm is Colorado (and we'll admit it was a surprise to us too). Led by #9 Cole Carrigg, #23 Kyle Karros, #27 Chase Dollander, #51 Charlie Condon, #53 Robert Calaz, #63 Brody Brecht and #85 Adael Amador, you'd have to believe in us to believe in Colorado as (except for Dollander, Condon and Amador) these may not be well known names, but these baby Rockies prospects are about to explode! We're probably out here on our own...a mile high....
2. #14 Travis Bazzana, #17 Chase DeLauter, #26 Jaison Chourio are quite the 1-2- 3 punch giving CLE a future top a MLB order here! And if #73 Daniel Espino can rebound like we think he can, then CLE will have a 4th top 50 prospect. And everyone discounts the power threat (and staying potential) of #87 Johnathan Rodriguez (but we haven't). There is also promising newcomer, 18 y.o. Welbyn Francisca (#96) as well as 5 more in the top 200 (incl. #122 Angel Genao) tying Colorado (and Seattle) with 11 in our Top 200.
3. Although they lack a true home, the A's have a true top 3 farm with two Top 30 prospects in #4 Jacob Wilson and #29 Henry Bolte and MLB ready #52 Colby Thomas standing by with slugger Nick Kurtz (#65) and #95 Will Simpson quickly moving up. Together that makes 5 in the top 100 (almost 6 with Denzel Clarke at #102) and 12 in the top 200 (which was most among our
ranks). Yes, COL and the A's, call us crazy, but these farms are producing.
4. Despite some recent graduations (and trades), LAD still has an incredibly
strong system led by #34 Josue de Paula, #45 Dalton Rushing, #47 Alex Freeland, #58 Zyhir Hope, #59 Joendry Vargas, #66 Edgardo Henriquez and #92 River Ryan, making it 7 Top 100 plus 3 more Top 175 prospects including Eduardo Quintero at #140.
5. Maybe there is no standout "superstar" prospect for the M's, so why do they
make our Top 5? Because this is as deep a farm as you can find with #50 Michael Arroyo, #79 Cole Phillips, #80 Lazaro Montes, #82 Cole Young, #83 Colt Emerson, #88 Felnin Celestin, #89 Harry Ford and #100 Jonny Farmelo, giving Seattle 8 Top 100 prospects (the most in our ranks), plus 3 more Top 200 for 11 total Top 200 (tied for 2nd most).
6. #13 Sebastian Walcott (who some have as #1), #20 Emiliano Teodo (a name you'll soon hear a lot about), #46 Kumar Rocker, and #71 Alejandro Rosario. give Texas a strong 4 in the Top 100, plus 4 more in the Top 125 and one player at #182 (Yeremi Cabrera) for 9 Top 200 players.
7. The Phils are pitching rich again! With #10 Andrew Painter, #26 George Klassen and #91 Wen Hui Pan make for a fearsome pitching prospect trio! But don't stop there as #55 Aidan Miller and #56 Justin Crawford are a 1-2 offensive punch. That's five Top 100 prospects plus 3 more Top #175.
8. A top heavy 3 in the top 25 #1 Kristian Campbell, #5 Roman Anthony plus #25
Marcelo Mayer (3 surefire major league impact players, well, as surefire as prospects can be) together with promising prospects Franklin Arias (#123), Jhostnyxon Garcia (#127), Matthew Lugo (#147) and Luis Perales (#153) had us going in thinking Boston would be the #1 farm; but instead, after the trade with CHW for Crotchet, BOS now has a gap in the 25-125 tier having them settle at a still strong #8.
9. #3 Emmanuel Rodriguez, #11 Luke Keaschall and #16 Walker Jenkins are quite the 1-2-3 punch, and like CLE, Minny could have their future 1-2-3. But, watch out for #70 Payton Eeles who may debut before the superstars! Either way, with 3 Top 25 players and 7 Top 200, the Twins come earn #9.
10. A top Rays farm without a top 25 pitcher? Yeah, that's a first. While this may be a different Rays farm, it's no less as potent with #7 Carson Williams and #32 Aidan Smith, #67 Brayden Taylor, #90 Xavier Isaac leading the charge ...and oh, the next stud pitcher? How about #42 Yoniel Curet! 5 Top 100 and 7 top 200 secure a #10 for the Rays.
11. Detroit, what? You heard right. With #5 Jackson Jobe and #12 Max Clark, DET has a top 2 as good as any team. And, don't forget #54 Thayron Liranzo and #62 Bryce Rainer, plus 2 more Top 175, making the case for a surge into the Top 10.
12. The Cubs have ready to go AAA stars Matt Shaw (#8) plus #35 Owen Caissie, #64 Jaxon Wiggins, #75 Kevin Alcantara and #77 Moises Ballesteros, add in #112 James Triantos and #129 Jonathan Long and Chicago makes a case for #10 or #11.
13. The DBacks were another team that could easily go higher (as high as #7) due to 5 Top 100s (#24 Jordan Lawlar, #36 Deyvison De Los Santos, #49 Demetrius Crisantes, #86 Caleb Roberts and #98 Druw Jones --who, if he can live up to his
incredible potential, could someday reach #1). Plus 4 more top 175.
14. Pitching? That's the core of Pittsburg's development from Jameson Taillon to Gerrit Cole to Tyler Glasnow to Paul Skenes and Jared Jones, the Pirates have become the new pitching factory to (gasp) rival Tampa! And, this year is no different with MLB ready #38 Bubba Chandler and #47 Braxton Ashcraft set to debut. But it's not just pitching as #60 Konnor Griffin, #68 Termarr Johnson and #84 Nick Yorke will remind us this year. (6 in the Top 175, 5 in the Top 100)
15. The White Sox say hey hey, don't overlook our pitching, which is led by the trio
of #41 Noah Schultz and #44 Hagen Smith and now debuted Sean Burke (#74).
And oh yeah, a thank you to the "other" Sox for #61 Braden Montgomery (who is expected to be quick riser through the ChiSox system) plus #81 Kyle
Teel) as well as #103 (Colson Montgomery), #146 & #167.
16. Although graduations threaten Baltimore's prospect dynasty, the trend of strong farms continues with #2 overall Coby Mayo and #15 Samuel Basallo plus #99 Dylan Beavers. It's just a bit light after that with Baltimore having just 4 more prospects in our 175-200 range.
17. Led by #21 Jason Misiorowski, the Brewers were strong in the top 125 with 5 players: #101 (Jeferson Quero), #104 (Jesus Made), #107 (Luke Adams), #108 (Caleb Durbin); plus 4 more Top 200.
18. The Brewers' NL Central rivals St. Louis say "not so fast my friend", touting #22 Tink Hence and #34 JJ Wetherholt (who most ratings have ahead of Tink) as well as #57 Quinn Mathews (who may make STL starting 5 out of camp). The Cards also have two more in the Top 200 (to make 5 Top 200).
19. The Mets aren't just #19 in our ranks but hold #19 overall prospect Brandon
Sproat (who we are extremely high on), plus another top arm in #72 Jonah Tong, followed by #133 Ronny Mauricio, #138 Jett Williams and #149 Ryan Clifford (and one more top 200 to make 6)
20. #18 Jasson Dominguez, #69 Spencer Jones, #154 Everson Pereira, #155 Rafael Flores.
21. #94 Shay Whitcomb, #115 Cam Smith (who nearly everyone has higher than us), #120 Zach Dezenzo, #121 Miguel Ullola (a hidden gem), #126 Brice Mathews, #128 Anderson Brito all make a case that HOU should be far higher.
22. #40 Chase Burns, #97 Cam Collier, plus #183 and #195
23. #30 Leodalis De Vries plus #139, #158, #173
24. Up from last in 2023 (though that wasn't hard to do) are the Braves with #43 Hurston Waldrep, #113 Nacho Alvarez, #172 Jhancarlos Lara, #174 Cam Caminiti
25. #78 Jarlin Susana, #93 Brady House, #159 Alex Clemmey.
26. #76 Ricky Tiedermann. #131, #137, #171
27. #31 Bryce Eldridge, #152 Wade Meckler, #160 Bo Davidson
28. #37 Christian Moore, #169, #196
29. #39 Jac Caglianone, #181, #193
30. #106 Thomas White, #124 Noble Meyer, #175 Agustin Ramirez
